Lurker gets 351 Kit installed

I have really enjoyed the threads on this site. So a while back i pulled the trigger on a B&B 351 Kit including pumper carb and 2 Brothers Exhaust and snorkle for my 2009 KLX.

First off the bike is one of my favorites. That bike is easy to ride I like the handling and the light weight. I was not very happy with the hard starting or the lack of power. So I wanted to try the kit to see if I could improve the things that I did not like about the bike.

I had dealer install the kit I am just too busy with work to do it.

I must say the test ride I took today at the dealer forced me to bring the bike back them and claim that was not my bike. Yeah folks it is that much better. It reacts to the throttle and has power to spare. I was easily pulling the front wheel in second something it would not do before.

Now this bike is great and the extra money was worth every penny.

This bike exceeds my KLR 650 by a mile much more
fun, the fun factor far exceeds that bike.

Thanks Bill Blue.

I want to thank all you guys for this site and the contributions you all make. There are a few lurkers like myself that really benefit from your advice and ideas.

By the way the rest of my stable looks like this:

2009 Electra-Glide Ultra Classic
2009 Yamaha V-Max Gen II
1972 Honda 350 Scrambler (In the process of restoring)
2009 KLX 351 Fun Factor bike of unmeasurable proportions
2008 Can-Am Spyder (my wifes but once in while she lets me drive it)

Wow man! Way to jump in with both feet. I've had my bike for over two years now, and it's still pretty much stock, save for a few cheap mods. I'd love to do a big bore kit and stuff, but I've had to just enjoy the bike as it is. I'll do it one of these days, and I'm sure it's going to be fun.

Welcome to the forum!

Care to share what the total cost was for everything? Also how much did they charge to put it in. If you don't mind telling.

Yup, nice huh? :D No price can be put on the grin factor. So you went from stock to pipe, pumper and 351 bore all in one step...bet that was noticeable. All of ya'll sitting on the sidelines....get off the fence :D

How about a pic from WI with a little roost.

Ha I'll get the Pic tomorrow.

$350.00 for installation charge. Big Bore, Carb, pipe air cleaner mod two oil and filter changes

The mechanic jumped on the bike took it for the ride and came back and he said "wow this really woke this bike up"

I do not think it could have been said any better.

I think everything from Bill was just around $1200.00 or which I get $150.00 back when i send him the cylinder back.

Considering the low cost of the bike this is great step and affordable to get a nimble, quick handling bike with the power to make it worth riding.

One benefit is it starts up right away and is not cold blooded either.

Yah man!! I keep telling people wasting their time trying to sqeeze an eighth of a HP more out of the 250 - GO BIG BORE AND FUHGETABOUTIT! :)
