RE: Looking for stock klx300 exhaust
I got mine on e-bay, the seller said it came from the 300 but the stainless plate on the can states model 250D which I believe is the 250 dirt only model. Try searching for that.

I just got my header off Ebay about a week agao & the muffler a few weeks before that. My muffler is also marked for the 250 but is way too new for that--I bet kawasaki never updated the labeling for the 300.
I got the muffler for $3.25 (absolutly like new) + ship.
I got the header for $26 + ship. After a much needed sanding with 400 grit it looks new also.
Neither came with the clamp/packing so I bought that along with a new gasket for at the head from Ron Ayers (+ my jets & misc).
Ill be installing this weekend or bust.

you realize the stock header is very poorly welded inside right? this is the first thing 300 owners do (after removing the buttplug from the oem muffler) is replace the header. the stock header is very restrictive however the 300 muffler makes just as much power as a slip-on after the plug is removed. i wouldn't waste your money on the oem header.

I have not ridden with the 300 header yetsoI wont make assumptions--like you do. We'll see how it goes.

You have been reading too much internet propaganda. Im holdinga 300 head pipein my hand now. The weld at the flange at the inside is far from poor, infact I noted it is less obtrusive than alot I have seen. Not to mention it is on a smaller displacement, & more importantly, the correct displacement Kawasaki designed the pipe for. So not every sentence of the online article appies to the 250S.

This whole article actually really doesn't exist, it's just propaganda based on numerous championships and real world experience with the product in hand. I'm sorry I (and Larry) have made such assumptions. Note to self- to you- the 300 and 250 header are the same exact thing except the 300 is a bit longer so you have ridden with the 300 header. I'll be sure to be on the lookout for such crap when I'm surfing the internet, especially with the likes of people who most generally know what they're talking about.
