Looking for a new head, cap and cams.

Just bought a 2006 klx250s, the bike has 20k miles and looks as If it was rode hard and put away wet. I bought it only knowing it needed a battery, starter, valve adjustment and fork seals along with cosmetic work. Just Found out the cams and journals on the cylinder head are completely toast probably from a lack of maintenence. There's no useable heads on ebay at the moment, anyone on here have anything or could point me in the right direction?

Do a search on cam journal rework or refinish. I know I've seen where there are companies that can rework the cam journals on bike heads. Just don't know who and where. You could ask in the ADVrider forum, maybe do some searches there. I know I saw a thread about it in one of the forums.

I have contacted a company and sent them photos, they say it's to far gone.

Only contacted one? iI'd try several. What one company cannot do another may be able to do.

There is a whole engine listed on ebay for $1200 or best. Not a bad deal. If you top end is that bad I would be a little concerned about the bottom.

I offered him a complete, running engine for $900 plus shipping.

That's a great deal. IMHO. A head with cams will cost around $600.
