LETS GO TOP SPEED KLX
78mph on the speedo (74mph on GPS) in stock form with no help from the wind, hills, or drafting. If I draft a vehicle, I know it can hit 85mph good enough.
As for that pavement sandwhich, no thanks. But the steering does get freaky after 70mph.
StockKLXspeedometers are usually 10% faster. Before, when I did 50mph, GPS was 45mph. After the needle twick, if the speedo says 50mph, GPS is 49.5mph. But the faster you go, the higher the speedo reads than actually. Below 30mph, the speedo is slower, (speedo = 30, GPS =32). Between 30-50mph, its acurrate enough.

I'm flat out getting over 105kmh which is about 65mph in stock form. When I hit 7000rpm the bike really screams so I usualy just hang around 6000rpm. I can't wait to put an after market pipe on my klx, its been along time coming.
Cheers!
Cheers!

80 is as high as i will get it... no steering damper in the north texas wind = speed wobbles.... enjoy your pavement sandwhich..

My speedometer has read a consistent 5MPH fast when I hit a traffic radar (tried it from 20MPH to 50MPH over and over one day
). Don't know how accurate it is faster then that since I was in a 25MPH zone at the time. [sm=lildevil.gif]
It does the speed limit and than some. gearing it down giving the torque I need. If speed is what you what you should go to a sportbike my 05 636 would fly 120kpm ion first. So I said I went to comfortand having to work the bike to th maximum install of waitiing flip backward n sure power aone
140km/hour
Had more in her but it got too scary
13th front standard rear
The klx will get better top speed with 13tooth as the engine seems to run in a sweeter rev range.
The bike also seems to be quicker with the rear number plate fender removed as it must create wind drag
