Default Larger capacity fuel tanks

For the 09. Red.

IMS Clarke Acerbis. First two use tank shroulds - what year klx?
Acerbis only has green...so that is out.
The only options are the first two. Capacities are 3.2 and 2.7 - First one requires removal of the rad fan & juggling of some wiring. Second had issues w/ leaking in early production runs. Both have seat/side panels fitment prob that need trimming? I tried doing a thorough search.

Can anyone shed some light what the clarke requires on an 09?
Thanks

This one won't fit

I've been wondering about the same thing for my 06. I want a bigger non metal tank. I dont wanna take anything off or modify brackets.====I've got radiator shrouds for an 07 klx300, and was thinking I could get a klx300 aftermarket tank. or even the stock klx300 tank. I think it was plastic.

2009 tank capacity sucks. I hit reserve at 52 miles today sweeping an enduro. It is embarassing how these things hog fuel for such small engines when off road.

So do the Clark or IMS actually fit a 2009? How much screwing around is necessary?

GONG, GONG, GONG...You have to remove the radiator fan for sure, and most likely the ignition coil in order to fit the KLX300 tank or IMS tank.

Those plastic containers would be in the way for the wife to ride with Deej...
her feet wouldn't reach the pegs.

There are two tabs that have to cut off & coil remounted else where plus fan removal to mount the IMS I found in the searches. Wires need to be redirected, throttle cable possibly replaced for a longer one, not to mention needing to buy new tank shrouds with the tank and trimming the new shrouds to fit the tank correctly........ lotta work for an extra gallon+ of fuel.

Here is my solution:

I use a 1 gallon rotopox strapped to my Nomadic rack. Add a 1 liter MSR bottle and you have the 3.2 gallans capacity for about $60. Use it when you need it for a quarter the price. No mods required.

Yep, thats the route I'm going for extra fuel capacity. Just ordered a Nomadic rack and will get a Rotopax tank next. Easy to add when needed.
