Has anyone tried this? is it even remotely feasible?
Seems like with the KLX250 frame being steel it would be easier to pull off then with an aluminum framed bike.
Anyone know where I could get rough measurements on the klx frame and engine online?

Oh yeah; tons of guys on this forum have done this but I have to warn you; there is a reason that large bore bikes have large frames.

 

I did a search and couldnt find anything. I know lots of guys have put 500's into kx250's but im talking about putting it into a 2006-7 klx250s. If anyone can direct me to some threads or members who have done this swap it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Those bikes are awesome obviously. but they dont help me out because i couldnt get it legitimately plated in new york state. im looking to build a 60 plus horsepower kawi supermoto that can be insured and plated.

 

Talk to the guys at Service Honda. If you can pay they will build it and register it if that's your bag.

 

Im sure they could. but not at the price i want. i can get a used klx250 for 2800-3200 bucks plus another grand for wheels and brakes. a thousand for the 5hundy engine of ebay and im good to go hopefully. Ive already got a '06 husqy smr510 i just want another sumo thts different.

 

...Very ambitious project. WAY out of my league. Let us know how it goes.
