WOW! Big difference! I don't really know how to describe it adequately, but the difference is like night and day. The brakes apply with way less effort, begin to apply with less lever travel and with much more authority. On top of that, there's is a lot more control...no more of the all-or-nothing feel of the stock unit. Combined with my 320mm wave rotor, this is the 'shiznit!' :)

I did have to go with a single deep 10x1.25 banjo bolt brake switch to keep the stop light and, being my usual observant self, failed to notice there is no mirror fitting. No big deal, it's a good excuse to go with 10mm adapters and some better mirrors anyway.The cleanest way to get around this is one those half clamps with a built-in mirror socket, which will just take the place of the clamp piece that comes with the master cylinder. The OEM Super Sherpa clamp is cheap and gets the job done.

Anyhoo, if you are upgrading to the KDX200/220 rotor or some sort of wave setup, this is a marriage made in heaven! The lever is a shorty, so you only need to grab with 2 fingers...MUCH MO BETTA!

I don't know for sure, but I would guess this master cylinder would even improve braking with the stock rotor... though not to the same extent.

so what does that cost? i wanna see the pics.... im gonna get the stainless braided line over winter.

Does it have a smaller piston or something? (line pressure = input force/area)

I'm not sure anymore if the piston has a smaller working surface or not. I think it may well be that, combined with a different lever geometry. Whatever it is, it works VERY well.

EMS, I think everything can be had for about $150.00 (regarding the master cylinder, switch and mirror adapter). Rotors vary with brand and where were you get them from, but they are generally more expensive. I imagine a KDX rotor could be found on Ebay with a little patience. It would be interesting to see how much braking improves when you use this master cylinder with the stock rotor.

Eric, have you replaced the brake pads yet? @7200 miles mine are right at the service limit.

mmm..... no i havent...... i have 7600 miles on... im going to be doing alot of that suff over winter.... checking the whole thing over..... and adding a bunch of new parts...
