Is that a KLX 450 or a KX 450?

ORIGINAL: kawasakifan700

That would be the KLX450R.
Right, I missed the intro, and then it was showing the letters KX and I got confused. But that bike is nothing new, but what would be new if you could street legal them. Now that would be awesome. I wouldn't buy one but awesome none the less. Thumbs waaaaaaaaay up.

Slap a 250 motor in it, call it the KLX250S radically upgraded, and Kawasaki owns the dual sport market.

Street legalize it, to save it from gettings its arse handed to it by the WR:D:D:D

Seriously though, I'd like to run it and my WR and see how they compare.

If it had a 6th gear and was street legal, I would have considered that bike along with the Husky and KTM.

I should get mine < street legal > in the next 3 weeks. It was almost the same price as the Husky TE450 and almost $2,000 less then the KTM.

I can't figure why the make it so hard to put something on the streets in some areas. The way i see it, If you have lights, signals, and a horn why not?

RE: KLX450R Video

emmisions is the culprit there. the factories won't make them so that they pass the emmisions test here in the U.S. . they'd probably sell every bike if they did it but they won't. just look how leaned out the 250 was. they would have to do that to the 450 too. i think they think that if a 450 is that weak off the showroomfloor no one will buy it.I also think that the european market has a big effect on what we get here. they must figure that they have to sell X amount of units worldwide to make a profit and if the euro's won't buy them for whatever reason there goes half the market. well maybe not half but enough so that it wouldn't be profitable for the manufacturer. i'm just guessing here i could be way off.
