KLX351 vs DR350SE

I have an 06 klx with the 351 kit and all the usual mods, carb jetted, air box lid removed, fmf exhaust, and uni air filter. How does a stock 98-99 DR350SE compare to the KLX351? I've never ridden a DR350, but has anyone ever ridden these two bikes back to back?

DR

I had a DR way back with just pipe and carb mods and I think it was pretty comparable to my 06 331 with pipe-BB carb, and sprung KLX. It was really fun to ride. I rode it for 1 1/2 year cuz it was only thing I had to commute with. I was lighter then so didnt really need springs on DR. I probably like my KLX better just because of the mods I have done.

It's a bigger bike (physically) and probably kickstart-only. I'd really compare it more to a DRZ400, but not as much power. A good bike from what I've read over the years.

I believe an SE has an e-start, doesn't it?

I had a dr350se years ago and when I decided I wanted to get another dual sport that is the bike I looked for. It does everything as well as any other dual and some things better than most, is dead simple and near indestructible. I currently have a 09 klx250 that in my mind is honestly not near as good as a bike, while i have the stock bore currently, even with a 351 kit I don't think it could equal the sum that the dr amounts to. That being said every dr that I have looked at has been sooooo rung out that unless you can find one that is near pristine the klx is the next best thing.
