Do a search for jhoffy and you'll understand what they are talking about. Funny, but kinda mean on the comment...lol. :p

Well, we are all putting our selfs out here on the internet with a screen name so you never know what will be said. Somethings are positive and some are negative. No one should really get pissed off over what someone says on the internet. It could be from someone thousands of miles away. I will admit that some of my comments to jhoffy have not been very nice. But I did go back and edit and say I was sorry. Did I have to do that? NO! But I felt it needed to be done. Search for jhoffy's posts and you will be able to check out his past/future project on the same bike.

I have an '09 250s completely stock- no extra teeth or special sprockets.

Its mostly used around the farm and in the woods- but every once and awhile I'll take a trip with it. It easily gets over 80 mph (at least as reads the speedo) with still some room on the throttle, and can hit 90+ maxed out. I'm about 190 lbs.

Am I killing my bike if I were to take a few hours (continuous) on the interstate at 70+ mph or so?

What do you mean 'keep your valves in check'?

Sorry I'm a farmer on my first bike since I was 15.

Checking/adjusting valve clearance.

I commute on mine quite a bit - my commute is 54 miles one way. Almost all of that is 55mph speed limit, two lane highway. I ride at about 62-74 mph indicated (6000 -7000 RPM or so). Of the 4000 and change miles on my bike, most (more than 80%) have been this way. So far no signs of problems for me - sore butt, yes, but the bike doesn't complain.
