Default klx250 stock ABUSE

i just have a quetion weather or not im killing my bike...

ive had it for just over two months and it has near 3000 miles.

most of which i spend on hwys and canyons plus it is my daily commuter and i really do love it

ive done 3 oil changes the second was at 2000 miles when i laid it down in the canyons and broke the shifter star and some other stuff it got warrentyied and all fixed up at the dealer

i guess what i wanna know is as far as hwy speed if there is dammage going on if im cruising at 7-8k rpm for almost an 30-60 min at a time i have changed the front gear out for the 15 tooth. and it help to make it more mannered on the hwy. then there are times when i go riding with the bike crew which are 90% street bikes my revs tend to vary but i do get on it a lil harder when everyone hit 70ish.

im around 175lbs if that makes any difference.

No...you're not killing your bike. Keep the oil changed in a decent interval, keep the oil level up to recommended level, keep your air filter clean, don't let the coolant level get low, and keep the valves in spec. Especially the fact that you put a 15T countershaft on it, I can't see the revs getting too extreme...at least as it would relate to damage.

Yes, you are definitely killing it. If you keep up this type of mistreatment, and you may have to do some engine work to it in about 100,000 miles.

dont worry, just keep the valves in check and dont run it low on oil and your good. this bike seams to be hard to kill, ive beaten the hell out of mine and shes almost at 20k.

LOL! Too true! (IMO) These bikes have earned the label of "bulletproof". Flog and enjoy!!!
