KLX250 a bit heavy?
Has anyone actually weighed their KLX250, mine has the rack, chain guard and de-icer removed along with a lighter aftermarket exhaust and it hit the bump stop on the scales at 130kg(286 lb) with oil and 2 litres (.52gal) of fuel. I did this with some bathroom scales on top of the lift stand so not the most accurate method, has anyone weighed their bike more accurately.
Kawasaki lists the 2007 KLX 250s @ 262 lbs.
So, your scale must be off, because it would seem thatyour bike would be lighter.......
With a full tank 1.9 gallons. A gallonweighs 8.34 pounds so that's................
15.846 or so...........should still only be around 278 ....................
But what do I know. I can tell you that a friend of mine has trouble with his drz400, I on the other hand lift the bike up with ease.

With a full tank the KLX clocks in at 292 I think. I know what the title says but that is extremely optimistic even for dry weight. Don't foget this bike has liquid cooling and dual radiators.
I read where someone weighed theirs. I know most manufactures are very optimistic with their dry weights. I would think the klx if rated at 262 dry from the factory would be at least 15-25 pounds more with fluids and battery in the real world.
Dry weight exclude ALL fluids. So 1.6 quarts of oil, 1.95 gallons of gas, 1.4 quart of coolant, 0.3 quart of brake fluid, and almost 1 quart of fork oil (maybe less) So just about23-24lbs of fluid... I didn;t look up hte specific gravity of each oil. I used about 8lbs/gallon.
262+24=286
