KLX250 *****Emergency!*******
I have a big problem guys- I broke my damn clutch cable- Don't ask
how! But I am headed up to Laconia NH for Bike week and I need
a replacement part !!!ASAP!!! Bike Bandit can't guarantee it will be
in stock- nor will they tell me when I should receive it if I use their
express shipping. I can't find the part on Dennis Kirk or Motosport.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

where did it break? I've heard of emergency repairs to the end of a clutch cable using crimp on fishing weights or something similar to fix a cable that lost the stop on the end. if that makes any sense to you, I can't find the post/article that I read it in...

Call or visit parts places until you find a parts guy that is intellegent and helpful. Have him find a clutch cable in stock that is longer than yours. Either reuse your cable housing, or cut the new one to length. Then crimp an end on the new cable when it is in the housing of your choice. You can sliver solder an electrical connector and grid and trim it to fit, or you can use crimp on bicycle parts with minor modifications.
This whole process is a pain, and is much easier in person. I did it on a trip a few years back on a junk bike I rode. I used the silver solder method, but had to buy a mini torch to apply it.
