I know it's been awhile since the last post but I'm wonder how reliable the Explorer kit has been.

It's been really good. I broke the bolt that hold the kit on the footpeg and I broke the bolt that holds the footpeg on the bike. I think I didn't tight it enough at the axel so it became loose and that ends up putting to much pressure on the foot pegs. My friend did change some internal bearing, no major problem.
This year I didn't use it, we have no snow, only ice

Thanks for the quick reply. There were some reports of the kit breaking off the front front caliper mounting bolts. Good to here that you didn't have an issue. I'm going to the 351 cylinder kit this summer then buying the Explorer kit in the fall. The extra HP should help when the Explorer kit gets installed. In our area we always have snow. If you get tired of the kit let me know if you would like to sell it.

I'm at 330, it almost mandatory. I still run it with a 12t front gear.
I don't have any plan to sell it but some are for sale once in a while.
My friend got the fork problem on a WR250. If you hit something hard on the front it sure put more pressure than a wheel would do. The KLX fork looks more solid.

Good to know that the klx fork can take some abuse. What was the top speed on hard pack with the snow kit? Also can your list your mods?

Can wait till next winter. I took the bike out for a ride on the lake yesterday too scratch an itch that's been building all winter. I live on the lake and someone had plowed a road this year on the lake.

Opps, just realized since you have no front wheel you may not know the top speed.

Exactly, no speedometer
It's not really fun to go fast in strait line (like a snowmobile trail) because without wheel you're missing the gyroscopic effect, so the bike is not as stable, The best is tight wood enduro trail. It turns much quicker than a snowmobile. If you want to go fast on open area, get a snowmobile.

Engine mod: I got the kustomkaft 330, klx300 exhaust, kdx200 snorkel, The freemods I got here and the carb setting with the alternate kawasaki part I saw here too.
Other mod: protaper bar, acerbis tank.

Good point about the gyroscopic effect, I never considered that. I already have a sled but just looking for something more fun to ride. I live in an area where we ride mostly lakes and small twisted trails with lost of hilly areas and I think this kit would work great.
