KLX red V Honda red
How close is Honda red compaired to 2009 KLX250 red.
I am considering buying some hand guards off e-bay listed as Honda Red. Craig |
They look close to me. Kawi might be a lil darker? The handguards would be far enough away from the rest of the kawi red to probably not even notice.

Um, you want your handguards to match? It is okay if your socks are different from one another... Just buy what you like and ride, my friend.

FWIW, I had a post go here in error bringing up an 11 year old thread. No idea how or why, but it happened...
By the way, eleven years too late, the red handguards match up pretty well. I have a set on my red 250. |

What's wrong with having an eye for aesthetics along the way?
From what I've seen, the reds match Honda, blues match Yamaha, greens Kawasaki, orange KTM and so on. I just put Yamaha blue ones on the Honda, mainly because I hate red. They don't match, but they're a great visual improvement! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.kaw...2bfd9636e9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.kaw...1e86cc47c6.jpg |
If I remember right, not all Honda CR/CRF reds matched every year. Usually not a problem though, usually close enough.
The blue guards do look good and a good idea if a color can't be had, go for a contrasting color that is used in the graphics or go with one of the base colors like black, silver, or white. |
I couldn't sleep with all of that red...so I changed the pegs too. I considered blue, but stepped back to see that the whole bottom was black, so it got black pegs too.

I didn't want to insult anyone, but there have been comments in various motorcycle forums or programs about "color coordination", mostly that the colors of accessories seldom match up uniformly making things a bit wonky aesthetically. I have to agree, all the red, blue, or green bits anodized, coated, or painted seldom will match up. A good reason for silver or black brake lines, levers, pegs and such. But motorcycle customization and personalization is totally individual in nature and should please the rider, not the world.
