Klx 650?
 

I might have a line on a 99 KLX 650, and wondered if anyone here has any experience with them?

I did a little research, and it seems that, other than the bigger motor, the KLX 650 and KLX 250 are very similar.

I have a 2007 KLX 250, and really enjoy how nimble the bike is, and how the lightness allows you to really ride it hard without tiring yourself out.

as far as the specs I have found say, the 650 is only 20-30 LB heavier, so that would be similar. and it would have the power the 250 does not(although the 250 has all one really needs, it would be nice to have more)

so what do you think, would it be worth trading up to the 650?(or would that even be trading up?)

They feel a whole lot heavier than 30 lbs. My bud has one he bought in a box and put together. A lot of the bolt on parts look the same as the 250, even the frame is very simular. Engine parts are it's weakness, hard to find. Some had problems with oil starvation to the head and had scored cam journals. It was thought that the location of the oil pickup in the sump was the problem, too high or too forward. if oil level was low it could starve when wheelying or going up hill.
