Default KLX 300 header pipe

I've looked at some parts diagrams and the klx 250 header has the same part # as the KLX 300.

What are good options for increasing exhaust flow?

Same pipe just a little longer. four stroke workz makes a pipe or buy a full system from Muzzy or FMF

Look a little closer.

KLX300.............18088-0034
06-07 KLX250....18088-0033
09 KLX250.........18088-0145

Still think they are the same PN?

Excuse me, but that's more than a slightly ironic coming from you.

Horizonod, just making sure you know there is a difference. If I came off any other way, my bad. The reference numbers preceding the dash are the same, because they are all referencing an exhaust header.

The 300 header gives you the flexibility to use use slip-ons designed for the KLX300 on our bike, if you choose that route.

There are many other schools of thought, which I'm sure you're about to hear and I don't agree with ANY of them .

No problem. It's confussing because SOME companies, not all, have them listed as the same part #. The drawings even look different. Most do put the suffix down in the parts listing area but not with the exploded views.

So if I just want to go for the header pipe right now what am I looking for? Will an $80 KLX 300 pipe work? What years?

I'll work out the muffler next.

It's HARD being on a budget.

You can't use any KLX 300 header without a KLX300 muffler.

You can't use any KLX 250S header without a KLX250S muffler.

Unless you cobb something together yourself.

If you want to keep the KLX250S muffler for any amount of time, dont bother with the header. The 250S muffler is unusable unless you cut all the guts out & then whats the point. Do the muffler first.

Get a 250S slip on, then get a FMF 250S header.

If you can do both at the same time, get either a 250s or 300R full system.
