Your 13-45 is pretty close to the 14-49 I'm running now. I used 13-49 in Moab...a little low but very nice for riding the slickrock trail and other steep climbs with nearly limitless traction...tractoring right along with great control.

I went to a 13T right after I bought the bike and was happy with it and it needed a little more on the trails. But in the end I ended up riding alot more on road than off so I went back to the 14T as it is more road friendly. I can still ride off road but you don't shift much 1st has to do.

I was shocked to see that I was missing the clip from my master link! Luckily the front plate had not budged from the pins, but I am now believing that the pro-rivet camp may have had it right all along.

Just something to consider if you are a fan of clip links like I was.
I have heard snapping the clip on and off a lot will wear it out. That makes some sense to me. Also, you may already know this, the clip should be oriented with the open end facing away from the direction the chain is moving.

I know it's an old thread but I need your answer. Since you like it and like you I ride mostly trails. Did you buy new chains? How long do I need for the set up. I don't know how to shorten chains so I prefer right length. Thanks. Btw I'm still running stock carbs and exhaust. Will this set up give my ride the low torque boost? Will it lift the front ? Tnx
