JT sprocket a big hit
I finally go the correct 13 tooth sprocket mentioned in the adv rider forum. JT sprocket (part #JTF516-13). It was perfect fit. The inside ridge sat just the way the stock 14 tooth did.
Road Review:
More chain noise is hardly noticable under engine load, but when your coasting you can really hear the extra noise over the stock sprocket. More noise I guess, means quicker wear, but I will increase the rear sprocket when the orginal chain bites it.
The bike most definately pulls harder especially in the sweet spot, 5000rpm -8000rpm. Like mentioned before by so many it seems like the gear ratio attained by the 13 tooth is the way this bike should have come from the factory. I really noticed the sprocket difference in 4-6th gear, especially 6th. The sprocket really shined when I was blasting up a long steep hill. I could feel the bike pull in a way that I had never felt before. It nots a huge amazing diffrence, but for $22 CDN you can't go wrong.
I ride probably ride 70/30 offroad to on road so lower gears to me is benefit. How often do you get to hit a logging road at 100km for more than a few seconds. IN BC, not to often. I hit an intermediate highway and found cruising at 80-90km very comfortable and engine rpm at 5000-5500rpm. At 110km I was at 6500-7000rpm, still ok.
The sprocket certainly complements all the other mods I have done.

I have a JT 13T sprocket that I have not installed yet. I noticed that the part # is completely different from yours. The part # of mine is JTF309-13. I ordered the one that fits a Honda XR650L because that's what the guys on this site told me would fit. Did I order the wrong one?
I'm not sure if your JTF309-13 is correct. My sprocket is for a kawasaki ninja ex250 I believe. I remember reading somewhere in this forum about a Honda xr650l sprocket working for the KLX 250s.
If you have any doubt take back the sprocket you have and get the one I mentioned from JT sprockets. The JTF516-13 is a foresure fit. Why risk it.
