It looks like $29.98 for the German-made product and $13.85 for the Chinese knock-off - but this is clearly not a mission-critical component, so the $13 product make work just as well!

Looking at the pics, where would the required hole need to be drilled? It looks like the washers on the three fasteners captures the top of the OE stand's plate... One pic looks like maybe there is a plastic or rubber ring/spacer between the top of the stand's plate and the three fasteners heads???

german engineered but made in Taiwan.

the two parts look identical, and hopefully its a great copy, and works well.

the thing I like about it, is there is no drilling.

it 'sandwiches' the side stand plate.

one plate on the bottom, one plate on the top, and it bolts the two pieces in a 'sandwich' (for lack of a better word) to the side stand plate.

maybe krazy glue the bolts to keep them from coming off after tightening to be sure they wont come undone.

the side stand pad is suppose to be in the mail box tomorrow.

Going to bolt it on tomorrow or the next day.

Bolted on in 5 minutes. Only goes on one way. Interesting this was made for a Kawasaki Verys. No mention of KLX on the inside pack, but fits. Even came with a Allen key. Here is a photo.

Not bad. I might consider this. Do you mind checking in after some time with an update on durability?

I'd be more than happy to do so.

Also, for your consideration,

The side stand pad that I got,

The package said for Kawasaki Versys 650.

Which there are a couple more options for those types of side stand pads, and I guess that would fit also. not 100% sure, but something worth looking in to.

First impression, is that the pad makes the bike sit more level, and makes the bike look taller.

No more kicking the side stand to find a level resting place.

plus it looks cool.
