To Jet Or Not To Jet?

Does anybody not jet and run the factory muffler? I'm having second doubts if I want to have it done.

I'm fairly new to this and I mostly ride dirt roads and on road.

I've ordered a FMF Q4 and a DynoJet Kit and I am having second thoughts.... Help!

Relax, Man... Your bike needs it, trust me. They will make life much better!

In a word, No.
Just do it, you'll be so happy with the results, you'll start looking for other things to do.

IMO the KLX250 pretty well sucks in stock condition. With a pipe, airbox mods, and jetting, the bike changes dramatically. The stock power characteristics are absolutely anemic. Even mildly modded the bike becomes many times more fun.

if you need the money for some reason, cancel to order. i rode this bike with just an air filter for about 7k miles and never had anyone wait for me except for the freeway. if its just play money anyways, trust us, you like the bike ten times better afterwords.

I agree. I still have the OEM jetting and muffler. I like the quiet muffler so I may just keep it but for me the jetting would be for better start up characteristics. A several minute warm up is just not acceptable when I want to get on and ride.

Starts better, runs better, more power, more responsive,.................and you already have the parts.
Why not???
The only people who will tell you not to do it, are the people who haven't done it.
If you made me go back to stock, I wouldn't even want to ride it anymore.

I run my KLX re-jetted, improved air snorkle, and OEM muffler. It really helped the KLX wake up and improved the mid range power. Along with better throttle response.

I appreciate the comments. I'm not very mechanically inclined so I fear having issues with the bike long term that I can not fix or engine life will decrease. It does sound like if it's tuned correctly there are no issues to deal with though.

Thanks, bootmud

Can you guys tell me about the air snorkle. Is the snorkle the piece that protrudes down inside the air box?

How do you improve it.
