I've got a dirty dirty little.....bike
Hey guys, a couple days ago I went on my first real trail ride through a really really really rough trail, it's been raining for weeks here and the mud was about 2+ feet deep so my nice clean bike got super super dirty and while I hosed it off after it cooled down when I got home it still is a bit grungy and as I am selling the bike within the next week or so I would like to give it a really good cleaning, what do you recommend? I know it says not to use high pressure as the bike is not waterproof but any tips for getting in the nooks and cranny's short of a full disassembly?
Thanks,
Hunter.
P.S. DEEJ? I hear you keep your bike nice and shiny :P

Why are you selling it any way
Everyone has a little different regimen for cleaning their bike, I'm sure. I used to use the car wash to clean my bikes, but on the KLX I've gone old school and use the bucket of warm water, soap, and a brush. I then rinse with a low pressure garden hose nozzle on low spray. I used to hate this idea, but I found it takes very little time to actually do this. Admittedly I'm not as picky during the cleaning process as I was with my Goldwings or sportbikes, because it is after all pretty much a dirt bike. With the KLX I've found that hand washing seems to help chain life and the operation of many of the bike's moving bits.

I got the bike knowing that I would learn a lot from it but the time has come where I have really outgrown the bike, not to mention the fact that I really am not a big fan of offroad and rode it almost all the time on the road where it is OK but really not great so I am upgrading to a supermoto

Here are the steps.
1. Spray off all the dirt and mud you can with a hose.
2. Coat the whole bike in Purple Cleaner from the Auto Parts Store (dilute by 50%)
3. Let sit for 10 minutes.
4. Hose off.
5. Blow dry with a leaf blower.
