Thanks for the pic Neil, I have an 1985 GSXR750 in my collection (needs paint work), had to low and cut an inch and a half out of the seat so I could reach the ground with my toes, I love riding it just hate stopping.

I hear ya man.

Those early gixxers where ground breaking in there day.
Very light.
IMHO They started the real on road race bike stuff.

I bought the GS about 6 months back with a view to restoring it to its former glory.
But time and space are against me.
I had 1 back around 81-82 so the model holds great memories for me.
And here is me on it back then.

The GS1000 is a true classic, are you restoring to the original look or something a little differant?

It will be as close to original as I can get.
Unfortunatly the Aus spec GS1000ST was only released here in your home country NZ.
(in fact I'm not even sure about NZ to be honest)
(I emailed a company of there regarding the exhaust and they confused it with the 79 SN)
And some of the parts are very very hard to source.
In particular, the original 4 into 2 exhaust system and the seat.

The early GXR's are great as well.
Good luck with the resto.
They were very popular here in Aus so if you need help sourcing a part, I'm happy to help.
