Red face Initial Maintenance Service (first 600miles)

My 2010 KLX250S is close to 600 miles. The Owners manual has a maintenance chart, but its difficult to comprehend

Can some one please inform me what exactly needs to be done on the Initial Maintenance Service (first 600miles)

Thanks for the help!

Change the oil and filter and check all the bolts for tightness.

Some check their valve clearance at 600 - the records I inherited with my '06 show that's exactly when they checked valves, and no adjustment was needed. I think others have posted on some older threads with the '06 & '07 bikes checking valves at 600, but I don't recall any needing adjustment that soon.

What are the valves? Where is the location of valves on the engine?

THanks

Valves let air/fuel mixture into the engine, and then exhaust gases out of the engine. They are inside the top end of the engine.

if you don't know what the valves are, you probably shouldn't be trying to mess with them.

Hey man we were jsut messing with ya. Actually as long as you change the oil on a regular basis and keep the chain lubed, there is not much else that can go wrong with these bikes. Glad to have you aboard.
