insurance question from a noob

ay im about to get a klx 250, and i was just wondering if someone could give me a rough estimate(I know everyone is different) for insurance on one of these beasts for a 22 year old male, residing in North Carolina, two prior speeding tickets for 13 and under, no accidents, no DUI's, clean criminal record, first motorcycle insured...also am i required to get a motorcycle license for a dual sport, or will it just help with insurance cost, also what aobut motorcycle safety/driving classes? will any of the aforementioned make insurance cheaper? thanks guys...ps, is insurance more costly for dual sport or for street bike?

I pay ~$100 for the year, 24 first bike, no tickets in NY. If you plan on even crossing the pavement with the bike you'll need a license or you'll be hit with unlicensed operation or operating out of class as it is a road registered motorcycle, not an offroad only trailbike.

$44.00 for each bike, so $88.00 total a yearfor $300,000 liability. Don't waste your money on full coverage. Just fix what gets broke. Or you could move to a state that doesn't require insurance on these thing like where I live, but I wouldn't recommend it. Better safe than sorry. Geico all the way baby!!

I think minewas $176 for everything. I know uninsured motorist coverage was the extra $100 on top of the $76. I do know its coming up in April. Oh, and thats annual. So its actually a good bit savings.

I paid $105 for a year of full coverage through Progressive's website. My home and cars are insured by State Farm but they were quoting me $35 a month for the same coverage. So my word of advice is to shop around.

GEICO did me right. Full coverage, low deductable, high liability limits, etc. I got the works for ~$80 or ~$90 for 12 months. I have a clean record, prior experience, no tickets, no at fault accidents, 5 claims (side swipes, t-boned once, hit from behind 3 times twice at ~45MPH faster then I), 2 of which Geico paid because the other party was uninsured, there have been two car break ins too.

I HATE Meth users and bad driving/drivers in Arizona. Right now I'm averaging about 1 major claim a year on my car. Heck, the break in to steal my trash sack (Identity theft) was almost $4,000 in damage due to screw drivers in almost every lock, prying with a crow bar on 3 of 4doors, etc. Heck, this is one instance I wish they had just thrown a rock through the side window and left glass everywhere. Meth users are a truly stupid bunch.

Motorcycle licenses are issued the same as a driver's license everywhere I've been. Go to your local DMV, take the test, and ride.

holy cheap insurance, Here in Alberta Canada, If the CAR/BIKE is financed the bank and or finance company require full coverage on insurance ( 1,000,000.00 liability, Fire, Theft, and collision) so I pay $850.00/ Year or around $70.00/ month.
