RE: Insurance

Ok i jumped the gun a little fast on the quote. When I actually called them they said since I had an accident a couple of months ago, small fender bender in my own driveway, that the quote would now be somewhere in the range of $280.00 a year. Too high for me, so I have decided to get just liability and he bumped up the coverage to 100,000/300,000/50,000 That way at least everyone else is covered, and I will just be out the bike or damages if something happens to it. So for a bumped up liability policy it is going to be $80.00 a year, which is nice to be able to pay for it and not have to worry about it for another year. I pay for my auto insurance by the month, but I guess I can afford $80.00 a year all at once. So I hope that is not too confusing to anyone, and keep in mind that rates varry from driver to driver, age/record/status/state/gender and on and on and on. So let's hear from you other riders as to what you got if any and who you are going through. Later all

RE: Insurance

I got both my license and my insurance today. Deej I talked to Progressive, and what they had originally had everything you could think of on it. I also opted for liability and the way the insurace works is that 75 is the low they can go to cover anything. So they started to stack all kinds of options like you have until they added all they could for 75.00. So ya, I had to pay all my insurance up front too, but thats ok. Its payed off for a year, can't beat that.

RE: Insurance

That seems a little high. I'm paying $142 through State Farm with the following breakdown:

Comp deductible - $100 - $20
Collision Deductible - $250 - $28
Bodily injury - $50,000/100,000 (each/per accident) - $11
Property - $50,000 - $28
Medical payment - $1,000 - $20
Uninsured - $50,000/100,000 - $21
Underinsured - $50,000/100,000 - $33

Overall the limits are medium but I opted for a low deductible because it didn't cost much extra and it's such a low value bike to begin with. I think using even lower limits prpobably isn't a bad idea since due ot the function and performance level of the bike, you much less likely to cras hand do a large amount of damage compared to a high horsepower high speed sportbike or a heavy crusier.
