Default IMS 3 gallon tank mileage

What are you guys getting on average in mileage with the new tank?

I filled up this morning and went on a ride and didn't hit reserve until 151 miles. Pretty darn good if you ask me. The ride was about 90 miles street and 60 dirt.

We will be riding in Baja for thanksgiving and I am thinking of carrying one gallon of gas for the KLX and hope to get 200 miles. My DRZ has the 4 gallon tank and I can get about 220 miles out of it.

I topped mine off yesterday, had 85 miles on the trip odometer (which I had reset at the last fill), mostly pavement with a little bit of easy gravel. Only took 1.1 gallons. Assuming the odometer is off 10% just like the speedometer, that works out to a whopping 70 mpg, which should give a comfortable range of over 150 miles allowing for reduced mileage offroad. Carrying an extra gallon should get you to that 200 mile mark...

Right on Thanks guys. I was kinda surprised to get 150 miles yesterday since we used to hit reserve around the 80-90 mile mark on the stock tank. I was thinking 120 -130 would be the range. 150 is going to be more than enough for 99% of our rides.

I should be good to go with an extra gallon and worse case scenario I can siphon some gas from my DRZ tanker

Just installed 3 gallons on my 2009. Hit reserve on 100 miles as opposed to 80 miles on my stock 2-gallon. Was expecting it to go on reserve at 120 miles? Where are you guys hitting reserve on the 3 gallons IMS tanks?

I log gas mileage at every fillup and average 80 mpg,
so my IMS 2.7 gives me 180 miles with over 40 miles of reserve.

That's pretty good.
Mileage is mostly riding style.
