I gutted my stock pipe!
After talking to you guys about the my jetting and how its supposed to be for an after market pipe I got to thinking and talking to Lou. I took some of his ideas and some of mymine and came up with a great solution.
I started by grinding the endcap, stainlessand cylinder offthe end of the pipe.ThenI ground the3 welds that held in the packing and slid it out. I then slit the cylinder long ways and removed the remaining baffle plate. Next I knocked out the plug in the packing, and placed it back into the cylinder and rewelded. I welded the split back, and rewelded the cylinder back onto the can. I then made a tipwith 1-1/4" piece of galvanized pipe, welded it on the endcap, and cut a hole. This will take out original tip and remaining baffle. I then welded the endcapback into place, riveted the stainles, painted, and VVVRRMMM!! Night and day difference in the bike. Iused a flux core 110V welded. It turned out better than expected. I didn't get to take any pictures, sorry about that. |
