Talking I could get hooked on this...

After a couple of months of wait, I've finally got my tools from the US. I've decided to service the bike myself, after I found out the dealer is not doing what needs to be done. And they don't use a torque wrench on anything. I am actually glad they never opened up the engine.

So, Saturday I've changed the oil. I am not gonna hide it that I've made a mess. But all went well in the end...and clean!

Yesterday, I was gonna replace the chain and sprockets. But, the engine sprocket nut was SO damn tight, I just couldn't take it out. Since most business are closed on Sundays, I had to wait until today to bring the bike to an auto shop to use their impact gun. Problem solved and everything replaced and torqued to spec. Great feeling to work on your own bike. I love it!

Next are the valves and, most likely, the cam mod. Then brakes.

JT Sprockets 14/39 and D.I.D 520VX2 gold/black chain.

Congrats. The more you work on your own bike the less it looks like black magic.

Working on my own stuff is therapy for me. I love knowing the parts, torque, fit, gaskets, lube, is where it needs to be. Honestly, I work on the Rover more than the bike, but it's all the same. The benefit of doing it yourself, is that you begin to recognize noises and can "see" the parts working or not. You develop a sixth sense for what CAN cause problems, which becomes a proactive thing. It's weird how you begin to "feel" the machine. Good man, Malves; I'm with you.

Nothing special. They just cost half the price or less over there and I didn't have to pay import taxes. Plus the quality of the tools.

Tools, maybe. The quality of your women, however, is second to none...
