How thick is the mixture screw plug

I'm installing a stage 1 dynojet kit on my 2011 klx250s and am at the step of drilling out the mixture screw plug. How thick is that plug? I don't think I've broken through yet but the hole I've drilled is almost 1/4" deep.

Thanks in advance.

STOP DRILLING!! The plug is very thin.

If you've gone 1/4" a new idle mixture needle might be needed. On another thought, are you drilling the wrong location?

You musta went through right away and didn't know it cuz it's real thin and soft sheet metal. Most guys use a punch to poke through or a woodscrew without pre drilling. Sounds like your far passed that point. Hopfully you didn't do much damage and may get away with getting a new pilot screw and not the whole carb.

Thanks everyone. I'll take the carb to the local machine shop and get this fixed. Fortunately it looks like all I've drilled is the brass so hopefully the carb is still ok.

If not I do have a good carb with a dynojet kit already installed.
