Default How to replace Fork Springs on 2007 klx250

Anyone ever replace their own fork springs. Ordered a pair from moto-pro and they arrived today. This weekend seems to be a great day to put them in.

Can you replace them while the forks are still on the bike? Do I need an special tools?

lol, I answer to both, though 'nobreaks' is not quite accurate since I've had a few of those.

That had to be the easiest thing I ever did. I went the lazy route and left the forks on the bike. The hardest thing was not dropping the inner rod to take the old spring out and put the new spring in. Start to finish took me around 30-45min

What a huge difference... Thank You Moto-PRO for the new springs. The bike actually reacts the way it should when I pull on the front break instead of collapsing the front forks...

I cant wait until the bill blue special pumper carb gets here next wednesday so I can stick my Big Gun Exhaust on....

What did you go with for spring rate? I just had the Moto Pro .44s installed and am a little suprised that there is still some dive, although a lot less. The new D-tracker hardly dives at all.

I am a heavy guy at 230lbs currently.... Will be down to 200lbs before the end of the year so I did the 44 as well. It does still dive a little. However, it does not dive anything like it used to. I went for a ride around the block last night after I got done and pulled really pulled hard on the front brake to stop quick from about 20mph. I could feel the shock work... With the original setup if I pulled hard on the front brake it felt like the forks would almost bottom out.

You can also try a heavier weight oil which will give the forks a larger damping component. The combination of the stiffer spring and heavier oil may be just what the doctor ordered.
