HA.. I bet you thought it was something dirty, Well it kinda is. How often do you clean your air filter? For me its a judgment call, It depends on how much off road riding I do. Back in the day when I rode the 2 stroke's I would clean the air filter every time I rode. I don't clean the klx filter nearly as much, But I was Just wondering how often do you clean your air filter?

 

I've cleaned mine twice, once at 1000 miles and once right after the 150 mile poker run. I know what you all are thinking, "deej isn't cleaning his filter after every ride?" Well I'm a clean freak, but only on the surface, if I can't see it it must not be dirty.

 

Similarly here - I did get some Kawi Chem air filter cleaner and oil. I cleaned mine a little while back about the time I put my new pipe on and it wasn't too awefully dirty. I guess I haven't been in horribly dusty environments here in the east. I cleaned it a gain not long ago and accidentally ripped the black foam that goes around the seal. Fortunately, I had a UNI air filter on order and it arrived the next day so I was back in business.

 

Nobrakes, If you don't mine me asking where did you get the uni filter, how much did it cost, and is it the same as a KLX 300 filter? When I do the pipe and carb mods I want to do the filter too. thanks any info would be great!

2,400 k's gunna clean it today for the 1st time. I have checked it before and it wasn't bad. I also am going to use some filter skins over the top of the filter.
