Default How hard do YOU ride your KLX?

Just a random thing that popped into my head, I run my KLX pretty damn hard but I do take care of her like a princess after every ride, what's the craziest thing you've done on a KLX?

Me, personally, was climb a sand pit going at 95 km/hr when I got on top (I was not aware) there was a huge drop down into a shallow creek, (2 feet deep ish) had my breaks totally in and my heart pumping until I hit the water and almost fell, unfortunately I didn't have my GoPro on, but that's my story!

I think I tend to measure how hard my bike is ridden over time and conditions rather than one extreme incident...like my recent 2+ weeks of souther Utah off road. Constant pounding, many obstacles, climbing, decending, ledges, etc., etc. seem to be what ultimately eats a motorcycle. As far as singular extreme situations my KLX has been through, there have been quite a few, and they usually happen when riding with other riders of decent skill sets. The mentality of "well, they did it, I guess I can too" seems to set in...LOL!

When mine was still a 250 had to do an interstate road trip and ran it through two tanks of gas with the throttle pinned pretty much the whole time.

Ill second that. I seem to ride harder than guys i ride with, at least it looks like that from their videos. Constantly. If you arent out of control sometimes you arent riding fast enough.

"Riding Hard" can mean a lot of different things - (and no guys, I don't mean THAT)

I think high RPM when I hear that, and there's just no benefit with this motor to keeping it revved as it makes its' power mid range.

But in the spirit of your question, I once kicked the bike on its' side because it wouldn't start. Then I picked it up and kicked it onto the other side.

Oh the humanity, deej! Is there a department for the prevention of cruelty to motorcycles that I can call?

I friggn flog the crap out of my bike, so far I've had 6,300 flawless miles. Probably once a week I'll run it around 8-9k for at least 15 minutes straight on the highway, some times up to an hour. Plus all the around town romping, tons of shifting and when I get to the dirt I'm always pinning it. I love the KLX! I change the oil and filter every few thousand miles and lube the chain regularly, just a weird fetish I have.

Pretty hard for the past 9k miles or so (bike has about 17k on it now). I commute, so high rpm clutchless up shifting and down shifting, 8k rpm freeway rides at 80mph for 30minutes, curb jumping, etc. etc. I think we all thrash our bikes pretty hard..
