How far would you commute with your KLX250?

I was thinking about the KLX, because it would give me the flexibility of a pretty decent off-road bike and the bonus of commuting in a MPG-friendly vehicle (my F-150 gets around 14 MPG).

I have a 15 mile commute, no freeways. I may soon have a 25 mile commute, no freeways. So, how far would you commute?

1) You're an idiot, the bike's not meant for commuting -- just for getting from one trail to the next without breaking laws.
2) Up to 15 miles in one direction is fine, but wouldn't do more than that.
3) Up to 30 miles
4) Some other answer.

Thanks.

I have commuted over 230 miles in one day, %75 pavement and %25. I definatley felt wore out after that, but I did it. Also if you are thinking of commuting and have to carry multiple items, or large items, then I guess you will have to find a way to set up some sort storage on this bike to carry anything. Right now I carry all my stuff in my Camelback MULE!

I commute on one of my bikes every day. I take the KLX about half the time. My commute is only 25 miles round trip but half of that is highway. The bike's great for that as long as you don't have a lot of junk to carry.

I cummute on my klx 55 mile round trip, mostly back roads. I have a small back pack just to carry lunch and a few other items, works out great.

My commute is 30 miles round trip, two lane roads mostly through town. I think the little KLX250S works fine for this.

My commute to work is 4 miles round trip. But I sometimes pick up the mail in town which is almost a mile and a half. LOL hahaha I know, I'm spoiled.

HA. Got ya beat deej. 3 miles round trip, and I've been walking 'cause it takes more time to gear up/down. I do run 100 and 40 mile round trips to my bud's houses a couple times a week.

man i really feel spoiled!! my new job is less than 1 mile each way!!! whooohoooo. less gas!! but i do drive almost 100 miles to tallahasse every couple weekends cause my girlfriend goes to fsu.
i think the klx is very capable of 50-100 mile trips without being uncomfortable. i am 5'10" about 155.

My commute is 10 miles one-way but when I'm on a bike, I wish it was longer.
Actually yesterday, I rode my 2 day old KLX to work and on the ride home, the bike was so fun to ride that I ended up going about 20 miles out of the way. So much for saving gas....
