How to check the year of manufacture from the frame number?
Hey guys I heard that some people can tell the real year of manufacture of a bike by looking at the frame number, is that true? How do I verify the year of manufacture on my KLX250 using the frame number?
Thanks,
Jamie

The 2nd digit is the manufacturer, ie K=Kawasaki
The 1st digit is the country of origin. I thought our bike was made in Malaysia or something but my first digit is J, ie J=Japan. [&:]
That is the frame number, the engine number is different :S Mine is made in Japan too.. And bought it Japan too..
Heres my Engine number seperately - LX250DEA11108..
What do u guys think?

Could someone please tell me exactly where the vin is written on klx250? The frame number i stated is written where the steering goes through on the frame..
That is where the VIN is placed. The Engine number is on the engine.
I'm pretty sure the 10th digit on the VIN is descriptive of the year.
