Default Hello From Lurker

Hi guys, I am lurking until I can get an '09. Since I'm not an owner yet I thought I'd somewhat make up for it by posting the only large pic of the 09 that I have been able to get my web-expert eyeballson.

I, for one, welcome our reduced-travel, larger-spoke, marginally-better-investment '09 overlords. If my SO wasn't helping me with the financing, and I didn't need the time to gather some downpayment cash, it might be another story, but she's gonna share the bike and she wants a new one, and she doesn't want anything bigger.

Welcome Dmon! I'm a KLX n00b myself. I just picked up an '07 a few weeks ago. I'm sure you're going to love your new bike, these things are a kick to ride. All light and easy. I was so jonesin' to try it off road that, on the morning after I brought it home, while I was riding it to work, I rode it over a sidewalk, through a bumpy field, across a park, over a curb and into a school parking lot. Whoops! I won't do that again, but I wish I could, it's fun knowing you have a vehicle that's capable of doing this stuff.

Welcome, lurker! From the sounds of things we might have some members getting the 09 headlight assembly to replace the ealier model, so we'll end-up with a few hybrids in here as well, as if we haven't modded these bikes enough as it is!

I'm sure alot of usareinterested to hear the first ride report from an 09 owner, so don't be a stranger.

Modded enough. Thats just a under statement to some of us here. I'm probably among the rare breed here, still keeping the KLX as is, stock. But hey, don't let me hold you back. Mod as you dare and please.

Oh, and welcome to the Kawasaki forums.

Hey DMON,

I just purchase 07 klx, I actually asked the dealer if it is worth waiting for the '09, they reckon that the only difference was sticker kit and brake discs, in the pic you can see the new shape. I'd be interested to compare specs of an 07 and 09 and see if the dealer just wanted to get rid of the 07 stock.

Cheers
Chris.

I'd say he just wanted get rid of his stock. There area lot more differences than just brakes, sticker kit and looks. I think the new bike will handle much differently. I'm pretty sure that it will have a much more planted feel. Not sure how the decreased suspension travel will pan-out until we know what Kawi has done with the spring rates and valving though.

I say let thepeople who buy the new KLX in its maiden year be the Guinea pigsOnce the bugs are worked-out the rest can jump-in.

Cheers
Chris.
