Headlight bulb replacement
I am a new rider since Sept 2015 and own a 2011 VN900 Classic SE. I want to upgrade my headlight to a brighter bulb without having to beef up wiring harness for possible heat damage. Stock lamp is terrible on night rides.
Any suggestions? I am looking at the HELLA H4 100/80w. Thanks, B13 |
I highly recommend you don't go to I higher wattage bulb with stock wiring and housing. You will melt something.
How about led headlight bulb or auxiliary lights. |
Thanks Matt88-8

I run a Cyclops led conversion with the high low beam option. Works great! Not sure if they still honor the advrider coupon but it saved me 5-10 bucks which was cool. It's totally plug and play so if you don't like it nothing gets screwed up if you go back to stock.

Hey a VN900 is a pretty cool looking bike..
Replace your VN's headlight assembly with a KLX250S headlight assembly and report back with pictures - yeah we'll all be ROFLOL, but we'll have some ideas for you.. |
I have this exact LED bulb(s) in my Yamaha FZ1 and just installed one in my 2018 KLX.
https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...1940&year=2018 Very, very happy with them! I wasn't able to re-use the rubber boot at the rear of the bulb, but it's waterproof so if any water did find it's way there, no biggie. After you install any new bulb - re-check the headlight aim. A good spot is inside your garage with the lights off. There is a spec in the user manual to where the light should be aimed. |
