Default Has anyone run the FMF Powercore 4 before re-jetting?

I just picked up a Power Core 4 slip on at a great deal, unexpectedly. I won't be able to buy a new Jet kit for a little while. I do understand I wouldn't get full benefit without re-jetting, but was wondering if I could still just bolt up the new slip on and ride as is without issue until I can re-jet.

Thanks!

I installed the Q4 after only installing the dynojet kit to stock 09 specs. I immediately noticed that it was leaner as I couldn't rev the engine as soon, it took forever to warm up just like the stock configuration.

After it was fully warm, the bike ran fine but I knew it was leaner than ideal so I took it easy for the test ride.

Do you have a stock bike with stock jetting or have you fixed the stock jetting but everything else is stock?

keep the stock snorkel in to keep the mixture as rich as possible.

Zero mods to date. The slip on will be the first.

I would wait till you got the jet.

You don't have the cash for a jet - would you have cash for a melted piston/motor assplosion?

Not saying it WILL happen, but it could.. My gran-pappy always said - "Do it once - the right way!"

You can buy individual jets from dynojet for 2 dollars a piece. Or if you want I'll send you a couple jets in the mail. I'm running the 132 in my bike, so you can have all the ones smaller than that. At least it will richen her up a bit until you can get a kit with the spring and needle.

The instructions says it's fine to run without jetting and I did so and it was fine. It gave a great performance increase as it was and I picked up very little once jetted, it does pop less on decelleration when jetted. But don't open the intake at all until you are ready to jet.

According to dynojet, the proper main is a 120 with stock intake. That includes their needle in the 09+ kit.
