That's about the ONLY thing I remember from high school!

Then it was a matter of neatly cutting away the end of the hand grips - easier for the throttle one as you can remove it from the bike. The last thing was spacing the aluminium piece away from the end of the bar. Luckily I had some small OD anodised spacers left over from a toddler car seat anchor kit. Perfect. Throttle twists & returns freely and a neat job. I couldn't be happier.
I got my Tusk D-Flex in the mail waiting for me once I get home. I plan to tackle the install here pretty soon. I'm waiting on my new grips to come in though since I'm going to end up having to cut the ends of them nicely, kinda ruined the stock ones anyways.

I plan drill & tap since I have the tools at home and it looks like that will be easiest, but I have a couple questions.

On my throttle side, co I need to cut away some of the throttle tubing, then use a spacer like pictured above?

The Tusks came with an "expander" that slides inside the end of the bar, since I'm drilling/tapping the weight I shouldn't need this part... Right?

Thanks for any and all information you all provide, it really helps out.

I didn't cut the throttle tube. As in the picture, I think I cut a spacer sleeve that landed on the internal weight and held the barkbuster proud of the throttle.

Alright, so I won't need that sleeve expander that came with the D-Flex guards, I'll be able to tap into the weight and that will be enough?

HT, you're correct. As previously mentioned you'll have to bore a hole at the end of your throttle grip that is a little bigger than the outside diameter of the spacer so the throttle can twist & return freely. I put a little rubber grease on the spacer to assist with this. I drilled & tapped both sides so I never used the expanding plugs supplied with my mounting kit. Take your time & you'll be pleased with the results.

Alright, I'm taking on the challenge tonight. Got my taps/dies and I cut off the grips.

Did you start by drilling the weight a little larger? Or did you just start cutting threads?

I seriously appreciate all the advice everyone is giving me! Thanks guys!

Drill to the correct size required by the tap!!! If you can't be exact, go that little bit bigger rather than smaller.

You'll be right The bonus is that the weights already have a centre hole so it's a good guide. Drill your hole to the tapping size first up.

Anyone have a good suggestion for some handguards that do not have any print on them? The barkbusters look really solid, but it annoys me that they have "Barkbusters" written on them. I dont like to plaster my bike in all kinds of commercials for various companies.
