Default going from the dirt to street

Hey I am currently just your average trail riding dirt biker but I would love the option to drive on the road too, especially when gas costs soooo much.
So my question is what is the transition from a dirt bike to a dual sport like?

thanks
Layton

You actually have to ride alot smarter on the road or you will be a statistic.

The transition is trees dont move and try to run you over, people in cars texting and or drinking will. Take the Safety course the 2 day if you can, that will teach you a lot and perhaps give you the skills to live to ride another day. Oh and welcome to the forums!

Are you wanting to know what you need to do to your bike, or to your riding style?

I want to know the handling of the road vs the trails
Ive read much of what I could find on the web but nothing really prepares you for the real thing. So if that in some way shape or form answers your question.

Oh, body positioning, is it the same as on a dirt bike?

Are you wanting to ride a streetable dirtbike or go directly to a street bike? You lookin at a dual purpose or goin to a cruiser, ninja, or naked bike? Each of those handle a lil differently. I've been riding for a very long time. Always had Ninjas. Of course they are lots faster and handle differently than my dual purpose klx250s. Overall street bike things to look out for was pretty much summed up.......its the other idiots out there you have too look out for. Make sure whatever bike you get its very brightly colored haha. Atleast thats what all my bikes have been just in case so people see me.
