Default Front brake cable extreme flexing?

Hey guys.

I went and did a little track riding with the KLX, and before anyone thinks this is a supercross track, it's more of a flat track with a few little jumps that any supercross rider would call a speed bump.

Well anyways, well I was riding I noticed I was getting some huge front brake cable flex. To the point I bent the cable. My bracket that held the line on the fork has worn out. So I attached a zip tie on the upper fork, and loosely attached the brake line. However whenever I land and get about 50-60% into my front suspension I get alot of extra cable.

I also chewed away at some of the protection on the cable.

Is my line to long? Is that why I'm getting so much flex? Or is it to short? Need to fix this so I don't lose the front brake at some point..lol

Here are some pictures. Please excuse the mud, I just finished and didn't wash her yet..haha!

I'm going to guess and say to long. Mostly because when I had the shop install the stock wheels from the supermoto I don't recall them changing out the line. So, moto wheels are smaller, more cable..More cable with big wheels = bulging?

You have the line attached wrong. It's a rigid mount on the fork guard and then the line runs through guides to allow up and down movement. The way you have it now will bend the line every time the fork compresses.

From the pics, I cant tell very well how its attached, but, like Lotrat is saying, the line needs to move up and down with the front wheel. It looks like you have it rigged so it can slip through the zip ties up and down, but it also looks like that wad of tape would be getting caught in the loop of the zip tie and forcing the line to bend. Best bet is to get the new guards, and get it set up correctly. I think your rig job, in one way or another, is what is causing your problem. The only place the line should be bending is up by your handlebars.

Tape is covering up the connector to the speedo that gets attached after trail/track rides. It's only made up of very fine wire. So I detach it to make sure my $200 aftermarket speedo does not become a paper weight.

When you get the new fork guard it will have mount near the top that will accomplish what you are looking to fix. Your set up is causing the line to bend which isn't good.
