After you get your leaking problem taken care of, get some of these:

Seal Saver....... They're not just bling, they really work. After I had to replace a leaking seal I put these on and have had no trouble since.

Yep most of the MX track riders around here use them. Where did you get them, and how hard are they to put on? Also I think they make a wrap around so you don't have to slide them from the bottom. Ideas?

Mine came from Rocky Mountain. They are Tusk brand. I can't tell any difference between Tusk and Seal Savers except the Tusk are cheaper.
As far as installing, its really pretty easy. I however slid them on from the top down instead of the bottom up. (but I already had my forks out at the time)
The wrap around ones will be a little bulkier and make it harder for the lower gaurds to clamp around.

Ah those look pretty good. Might have to get me hands on them, although i'm not really keen on taking the forks out unless i have to.

anyway i checked out the bike and theres no oil running down the fork from the seal anymore, which is good, unless theres no more oil. I also rocked it back and forth and there is juuust a slight ring being left but i'm pretty confident its just residue from the fork and the seal.

Can't get the link to work so just search "Tusk neoprene seal guards"

Thanks gary, those look like they'll come in handy for sure. So I probably have nothing to worry about anymore? Even though there are slight rings left behind

FWIW, With less than 300 miles on my '07, the left fork seal starting leaking -bad. Warranty time!

Took it to the local mega-dealer who said "2nd KLX this week w/ a leaking fork seal, the other had some kind of blue plastic-like tape inside the fork leg from the factory. Very strange. Your's probably has the same problem."

After the initial seals that were ordered were wrong, and the correct ones finally arrived and labor completed, they had dicked around w/ my bike for nearly 2 weeks! Oh well, all is well now.
