Footpeg mod
Well after a year or so of suffering with the stock "foot stubs" I decided to do something about it...
Is it just me or does it really bother anyone else that the left footpeg is sooo much smaller and further inboard than the right peg?
Not just a bit - but like 2 inches inboard compared to the right peg...
Anyway, here's how they turned out... Just welded on an extra row of teeth (on the rear, which effectively moves the peg centers back just slightly)... And I compensated for the assymetry by making the left peg longer.

Jason, you dida good job with that mod. Did you do the welding yourself? That is a skill that I covet in others. I never learned it and I guess at this point I won't. Not for a while anyway.
Good job.
Good job.

I'm learning to TIG weld, but my friend actually did the welds on my pegs (i'm not good enough yet - I would have blown holes all over the place).
I know IMS makes some aftermarket pegs, but they're expensive, and they don't address the assymetry, which is a real issue for me. This mod cost me 2 hours and no money.
I absolutely hate the feel of the stock left peg - it feels broken or something (because it's so short), but the right always felt OK. Doesn't anyone else notice this? Whip out the ole tape measure and check your pegs - in particular the distance from the bike's center (or from the outside frame rails). It just drives me nuts.

When downshifting I occasionally miss the peg when putting my foot back down, very aggravating[:@]. Standing on the pegs feels odd as well because they are so small compared to ATV pegs.

I have never noticed the assymetry when riding. I'm sure I will now that you have pointed it out though, you @#$&*(. [:@][:'(] (Completely kidding, of course). Deej is not the only one with a raging case of OCD.
