Default Fitting exhausts from different year models?

Hey all, I have recently picked up a 2007 klx with a two bros m7 slip on. While it sounds pretty damn mean it's just way too loud for long rides, and I feel like a bit of a twit riding around town with it.
There is a used Delkevic for sale near me, and I thought it might be a good cheap way to play around with a quieter sound. The only catch is that it is for an 09. My question for all you klx gurus is does anyone have experience fitting exhausts from different year models? Is it viable to fit this 09 Delkevic to my 07 bike without any major modifications?

I've already ordered the p1x so when I get it installed I'll report back with how much of a difference it makes. I'm just wondering if an 8 DB reduction will be enough to make the pipe that much better or not

I love the sound of mine but my neighbors not so much when I start it up at 5:30am
Thinking I may just put a turndown on it and see if that helps.

"An increase of 3dB doubles the sound intensity but a 10dB increase is required before a sound is perceived to be twice as loud. Therefore a small increase in decibels represents a large increase in intensity."

So "half as loud" would be a 10 dB reduction, Three would definitely be noticeable. The "half" and "twice" as loud are subjective.

when I first installed the m7 two brothers slip on exhaust it was loud idling, i thought about my neighbors too lol. The p1x did bring the decibels down to where I felt it was tolerable.

Alright well this gives me more confidence in the P1x so I’ll wait and see how it works before I worry too much. Do you notice any difference in the popping you get on deceleration with the tip installed?

To your original question, I put an 09+ model FMF Q4 on my 06. Let us know if the Delkevic fits.

The tbr exhaust has a more flow thru design and I ordered a dj jet kit 2206 and a 38 pilot jet at the same time. That and adjusting the fuel mixture screw out lessened the decel popping. Try to adjust your fuel screw, if you haven’t done any modifications you’ll find an aluminum cover plug hindering the owner from adjusting the fuel screw. Removal isn’t to much trouble, just drill a small hole and thread in a wood screw and it prys right out allowing adjustment. The dj jet kit I bought included the drill bit and the screw for removal of the epa mandated cover.
