Well the weather finally warmed up enough to warrant a ride on the KLX....got up to a whopping 6 degrees today! Only took a few pics though as it was still pretty cold, put 63kms on the bike in about 2 hrs. Here are a few pics that I did take.....

We did see a lot of deer out in the country, a bunch in every field wherever there was bare grass, they were feeding...a good sign that summer is coming....the KLX scared a few of them that were closer to the road. I will stop and get pics of them next time out.

Wow this place looks awesome with all that snow around. I have never seen snow before, but i can ride my klx all year round. So fair trade i guess.

Brrrrrrrr. Yo crazeee bro. Tha there's some chiily weather bro. Brrrr. Nice Tires BTW. Kenda ? What model and size?

mudjunkie 03-23-2009 02:28 AM

Thanks guys..the tires are Kendas, front is a Kenda 776F (90/90-21)--bought it after reading someones review of it on here somewhere (maybe poodlenuts or bryan jt's?)...whoever it was gave their opinions of various tires they had ran...and this one was their favorite I believe. Got the rear late fall, but was waiting for a rim-lock to come in before install. It is a Kenda 778, the mating rear for the front (I believe) and has the same yellow lettering as the front. (a friend of mine had one on his DRZ..and when I noticed it had the same yellow lettering I wanted one) it's a 120/90-18 and is quieter on the ashphalt than the trakmaster....and smooth (not squirrely feeling) on the turns. I really like it. mount it in one direction for hard-pack, turn around for soft terrain....front is also directional (one way). I had my long-johns on so wasn't too bad..winter gloves, breath-guard is a must (even for warm weather as it keeps dust out as well). However, bike is back in garage for a spell though...getting a snow storm as I type, 15-25cms by tuesday.

6 degrees Celcius I assume? Thats like 42.6 degrees Fahrenheit or so (if my math is right) Thats just a shave under my minimum road riding temp or 45 F. 45 is pretty chilly, but by no means cold....but when you get 60mph winds on you or better its pretty damn cold in a hurry.

Good info on the tires. I'm trying to put together my wish list for when my stockers need replacing. We've got winds blowing down from Canada right now. It's -6C (21F) out right now. It's suppose to be cold for about two days and warm up on Wednesday. Hopefully I can ride by midweek...

DUDE!!! I turned up the heater in my office just looking at those pictures.:D Wow I'm glad I don't live in a cold place. Cold here is 20 and that's only a few weeks a year.

mudjunkie 03-23-2009 08:26 PM

Yeah ...its been a long winter here this year....but we are starting to see it above freezing a couple days a week, but still will be a while before the snow is gone and trails are cleared up. My friend called from Richmond, BC yesterday (he used to own the DRZ in the pics) and he said he was sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and had mowed his lawn 3 times already this year!...I envy you guys on the west coast.
