finally

well i spent all day tryin to add an early christmas present to my bike. i put a 48 tooth sprocket on and the longer chain. well turns out the master link was a little too tight to fit right so i sanded it down with sand paper and it barely worked. i spent all day tryin to get this on and finally did.

now the bike feels alot better

Congrats on getting it to work. Test drive it yet? And how's the weather in Tennessee? We had ice today in Dayton, not a fun day to be a mailman.

Haha! You should see the mailmen here in Japan. Picture sombody on a step-through Honda Cub 50cc with a bigazz hard box on the back riding along over snow and ice with his feet almost dragging in hopes of catching himself before he wipes out. They actually do pretty well, but just sayin.

I see you have an 09 with the 330 KK big bore kit. How's it running for you so far?

Oh, and nice work on the chain, Rider05. I'm almost to the point of throwing on some heated gear and taking mine out.

I haven't test drove it yet, still at the dealer. I can't picture those mailen on Honda Cubs out on the snow and ice, lol. The U.S Postal service actually experimented with using Segways, I guess that didn't work out so well.

Hey Kawiridr05, what brand of sprocket and chain did you use?

kawiridr05 12-24-2008 02:24 AM

thanks guys, i used a primary drive sprocket and chain from rockymountainmc.com. i test drove it but it was so cold out i couldn't see anything cause my eyes were watering so bad. the bike was a little cold still too. but it felt pretty good anyways.

and for the weather in tn. basucally everytime it gets cold there's no precipitation. and when it gets warm we have floods for 2 weeks straight. great luck huh

Congratulatioins! I just did (almost) the same thing, I put a 47-tooth Primary Drive rear sprocket on my '09, and I went ahead and replaced the countershaft sprocket because it was hooked pretty bad. I bought a 110 PrimaryDrive gold chain, ended up cutting it down to 108. I only got to ride mine about half an hour or so after I did it, stupid work and our weather sucks down here in Louisiana.

dude weather has been ridiculous. i just want one sunny day, or weekend. its been forever

cliffsta 12-24-2008 03:54 PM

Well we'll have sunny weekends but it'll have rained all week and the trails will be closed. Its driving my dad crazy, he's dying to ride the trails. I kinda wanna ride, too, but not if its gonna be muddy.

kawiridr05 12-24-2008 08:02 PM

yeah i agree cliff. i took the bike out a little today around my street and to the lake bottom a couple minutes to test it out. every time i got on the bike it started raining. so i'd go back inside and it'd stop. i did that about 5 times til i just gave up.
