Most of the stock dyno curves I've seen have been 15-17 hp without modifications. On most bikes not just the klx 10% is what you can expect from intake and exhaust mods. I think most of us feel from our experience the gain is 15-20% but I think that is somewhat optimistic. That is why it would be good to see a stock pull and a modified pull done on the same dyno but even then the variables come into play. Lastly not all stage one or two upgrades are equal as some parts work better together than others so there is little point in comparing different bikes dyno pulls. It's better to just line them up and let them rip and see who wins.

My bike with stage 2 dynojet and dg exhaust on a dynojet dyno outside temp 75 degrees or so made 23hp. I think a big factor is the temperature of that day. No motor is really meant to be run at peak efficiency in the heat.

A basic HP/Torque dyno run costs me $30. The mods in here are crazy effective on the KLX250S. This forum needs a repository of at least a few stock charts. Perhaps some of you old members could help me in trying to get stock pulls on a DynoJet Dyno ? I'm buying, for anyone in the North Texas area.

Cool

I agree that the temp had something to do with it or maybe mess with the jetting a bit more. According to Kawasaki the stock klx makes 22hp from the rear wheel and dirt rider magazine claimed 19hp. So I would believe the profetionals and the people that engineered and built the bike. All that matters is that when there's a hot babe walking on the sidewalk you can ride a wheelie past.

No additional jetting work was needed as per the dyno A/F readings. Engine and air temps are measured and, supposedly, corrected to SAE standards by the dyno software.
I assure you my bike will run off and hide from a stock KLX. Watch my video - It now wheelies on engine power alone - try that with a stocker. I'll buy the run at Twisted Technology for any stock KLX in the DFW area. I'll call in payment or bring my bike up an pay to run both of them. What will be interesting is how many will refuse to believe the results of the stock bike as I'm sure it'll be about 15hp.

motorcyclist did a run with the klx in their newest dual sport shootout. both the klx and crf ran 20 hp.

of course some here will refuse to believe that.....

Everyone knows all similar engines perform exactly the same... you need to go check the back 40 for those two horses... while you're there look for the other .3 horse that Motorcyclist found. It's gonna look kind of weird though, maybe just the butt end. But I don't know.

you should write to these magazines and correct then on the "fact" that the klx only has 15 hp and that all their dynos are broken. you would be doing the world a huge service.
