Default FCR33 - Please help with jetting

Hello,
I installed FCR33, bike runs strange. I could find jetting info on FCR35 but
not for 33mm venturi. I have no idea how could that change the flow but
understood that it gives more low end and less high end - that is what
I am after.

I have a free flowing muffler with grounded headpipe welds, hiflo filter
and no airbox lid.
I live and ride elevations from 1000ft to 4000ft.

Could somebody please suggest settings for a good starting point including
needle settings, air screw and mixture screw turns. Better a bit on the
safe (rich) side since occasionally I do go below 1000ft.

Thanks!

P.S. Bore is stock. D2 model.

Is the bike a klx 250, What exactally are your issues? What are the current jet sizes as well as the needle position? This is necessary info before a suggestion can be made.

Actually, there are so many strange problems that I would like to start from the beginning,
therefore I was asking for a good starting settings. Where would you start from?
Any users with FCR33 to give their settings?

Okay then, p48, m142, needle 4th from top, air screw 1,5 out, mixture screw 3 out.

Bike does not want to idle much long. On downhills when braking with engine backfires
and sputters. Sometimes dies off when quickly blipping the gas from idle. I generally have
a feeling, that it could have more power.
AP is set up correctly, a bit under one second.

The fcr35 jetting for 250 displacement was 150m 50p 1.5 turns out on the fuel screw, OCDVR needle 3rd clip from the top, 1.5 turns out on the pilot air jet, 200 main air jet. That is what was supplied to me from Jerry at FSW.

Having never run that carb, this is the best direction I can give you.

Good luck and post your results when you can

Thanks RaceGass. Was that for aftermarket air filter? Snorkle off or the whole lid?

Logic tells me, that 2mm smaller diameter equals in stronger force pulling the
fuel trough the jet - so I indeed should go for a bit smaller sizes than what is
commonly used on 35mm FCR's?

Thanks again.

You may be one of the first to use that model carb on a KLX250.

Here's some tuning information:
