Exhaust for KLX250SF with EFI

Hi,

I will soon purchase a Kawasaki D-Tracker (KLX250SF) but here in Thailand they have fuel injection and I was wondering if the slip ons that are suitable for the KLX250SF with carb would also fit the bike with FI? Has anyone in Europe or Asia fitted a slip on designed for a carb bike to a KLX250 with FI without any problems?

I know very little about bikes but read that the O2 sensor might be a problem, that sound right?

Thanks in advance

They will fit you bike, you'll just have to drill them to install the lamda sensor in.I live in Greece and have the full megabomb+Q4 FMF system I did that and the bike runs fine. You could also buy the Arrow or LeoVince muffler which is already suited with the adaptor.

Whats wrong with the EFI? Can't you program or remap the computer for the upgrades?

I've also got an EFI model and have just noticed this listing on Ebay. Would this have any effect or is it just another scam?

I have no experience with replacing the inlet temp sensor with resistors, but it doesn't give me a 'warn and fuzzy feeling' bypassing a sensor that helps the EFI function properly. The sensor the listed product bypasses is key in compensating for altitude and OAT changes so I don't think that's a good idea.

Two Bros makes a 'Juice Box' controller for the EFI KLX that allows you to richen-up the curve once you've uplugged and added a decent exhaust.

Its a scam. One of my buddies tried one on his Alero. Before installing, the ECU read the IAT at 70*F. After the install, the ECU was reading the IAT at 100*F. So the resistor was tricking the ECU into thinking that the intake air was hotter than it actually was. Thus lean out the fuel trim

They sell the same thing for vehicles. Its supposed to make it think its getting cooler air to optimise the timing for that cooler air.

I'm sorry, I put up the wrong link. This one is for a new ECU and regulator.

"IT WILL UNLOCK THE POWER THAT THE STANDARD FUEL INJECTED BIKE SHOULD OF BEEN LIKE BEFORE IT WAS RESTRICTED"

I wasn't aware that it was restricted in the first place.

Don't bother buying that thing, too expensive. Here are the instructions to allow the bike to rev freely in all gears, stock bikes are restricted in 4-6 so the bikes can meet the strict emmission tests.

Here's a link to how to derestrict the bike yourself or have someone do it for you if your not comfortable doing it yourself.
