Default Edge tail light kit needs a relay?

Hi everyone. This week-end I was about to install my edge tail light kit on my 2009 klx 250 s, us spec model ( i'm from canada). One of my good friend is an electric engineer and told me something I had to ask you, cause I can't remember on all the edge tail light kit is someone did that.

I have a led tail light kit and flashers type 601 to install. But the thing is that those lights inside are LED type lights. And the bike stock doesn't have led type light for the flashers and the back light (brake light).

And, led type lights are consumming a lot less of electric energy. So, to regulate the electric system on the bike, he said I absolutely need to install one or two electric relay.

My question is, have you install on or many of those relay on your kit? and where did you take it? I ordered my edge tail light kit from that site: http://www.wheelingcyclesupply.com/s...d=128&offset=0

And my last one is: does someone has the electric schema of a 2009 klx 250 s in a pdf file or in any type?

Thanks and have a good day

I didn't and mines fine..relays are needed for the blinkers unless you want a strobe light show...I know a couple of DRZ guys with out the relays for the edge kit as well...been over a year and they are fine...Mines been fine for 7 months..Just my 2 Cents

Hey Tmoe, which tip/supressor do you have in the pipe. Is it a P1-X power tip?

Default Hope this helps.

Frank, try the pics below. Also, there's a relay at http://wheelingcyclesupply.com but, there's a cheaper one at http://rockymountainatv.comunder the Tusk brand that I think is about the same, just look in their turn signal department.

Hey been away a couple days. the tip shown in pic is the P1. It is way loud! I only put it on when going down town so I can set off all the car alarms.
I also have the P4 which is much quieter that I use in the woods.
